Eleanor Havko Huke loving mother and world traveler passed away peacefully at the age of 96 on August 21, 2024. She was surrounded, physically and in spirit, by her loving family.

Ellie graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in Fine Arts. She went on to become an art teacher in the Norwich and Lebanon schools and then had a 20 year career at CRREL creating maps for publications.

She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Robert, a professor of Geography at Dartmouth, and their three daughters. Ellie was an avid seamstress, gardener and reader. She enjoyed puzzles of all kinds, from crossword to jigsaw, and playing all kinds of games with her friends and family.

Ellie was predeceased by Robert, her husband of 53 years and son-in-law Robert Childs. She is survived by 3 daughters; Beverly Reinhardt and husband Robert, their children Sarah and Erica, Deborah Childs and her children Andrew and Taylor, Patricia Porter and husband John, their children Matthew and Kathleen, and 6 great grandchildren - Lincoln, Jackson, Jackson, Andrew, Rowan, and Eloise.

Following Ellie’s wishes, there will be no public services. A private family gathering to commemorate her life will be held at a later date.
